Vision Statement

To improve the quality of life of people with arthritis and related conditions.

Mission Statement

To be recognised as the leading provider in SA that empowers people with arthritis and related conditions to achieve the best quality of life through advocacy, education, self-management and the support of research.

A Brief History

The Arthritis Foundation of South Australia, which trades as Arthritis SA, is a non-profit community health organisation established in 1975 in response to a perceived community need for the development of adequate services for people with arthritis.

A need was recognised for a service to explore ways of providing services to people with arthritis in the areas of medical assistance, support, education and research to find a cure or better treat the disease.

Arthritis SA now provides services to the 1 in 4 South Australians with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions including arthritis, osteoporosis, lupus, scleroderma, ankylosing spondylitis, fibromyalgia and many others.
