Vision Statement

To improve the quality of life of people with arthritis and related conditions.

Mission Statement

To be recognised as the leading provider in SA that empowers people with arthritis and related conditions to achieve the best quality of life through advocacy, education, self-management and the support of research.

A Brief History

In response to community need for services for people with arthritis, the Arthritis Foundation of South Australia was established in 1975.

On March 1st 2023, following consultation from members and stakeholders, Arthritis SA officially joined The Hospital Research Foundation Group, becoming The Hospital Research Foundation Group – Arthritis.

The Hospital Research Foundation Group – Arthritis now provides services to the one in four South Australians with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions including osteoarthritis, gout, autoimmune arthritis, lupus, scleroderma, ankylosing spondylitis, fibromyalgia and many others.

Our services cover the areas of advocacy, support, education, and research to find a cure or better treatment of arthritis.

The alignment of THRF Group and Arthritis SA’s values and objectives pave the way towards an impactful future serving and supporting South Australians living with arthritis and related conditions.

Both organisations are committed to delivering on the promise of the partnership for the benefit of the community. The merger allows for the existing services, programs, and support groups to be maintained and expanded.
