What is Tai Chi for Arthritis?
Tai Chi for Arthritis is a form of tai chi designed by a world renowned tai chi instructor in conjunction with his tai chi associates and a team of medical experts. It is easy to learn, effective and safe.
Tai chi is said to increase flexibility, muscle strength, heart/ lung activity, align posture, improve balance and integrates the mind and body.
Thousands of people with arthritis have gained pain relief and a better quality of life from learning and practicing tai chi.
Who is eligible to participate?
Prior tai chi experience is not required however you need to be physically fit to safely participate in the workshop.
Who is eligible to become a Tai Chi Leader?
To be eligible for a Tai Chi Leader Certificate you need to have suitable qualifications/ experience, for example:
- Experience as a tai chi student or teacher
- An allied health professional
- An accredited/certified exercise instructor
How to apply for a Tai Chi Leader Certificate
To receive a Tai Chi Leaders Certificate you will need to complete the following:
- Learn the Basic Siz Forms from the DVD prior to attending the workshop
- Read the Teaching Tai Chi Effectively handbook
- Complete an application form prior to the workshop
- Hold a current first aid certificate or similar qualification e.g. RN/ EN or MBBS
- Complete a pre and post course worksheet
All pre-workshop learning materials will be supplied to you by the training facilitator
Important Information / Things to Bring
As lunch and refreshments will be supplied both days. Please advise Arthritis SA if you have any dietary requirements.
Please ensure that you bring all forms supplied prior to the course with you on the first day

The course cost is $390 inc GST (includes pre course DVD, book and lunch both days)
An initial deposit of $65 is due at the time of booking with full payment due by Friday 20th April 2017.
