Board members elected unopposed
Three Board members were elected unopposed to Arthritis SA's Board at the foundation's Annual General Meeting on October 25.
Dr Simon Burnet, Dr Tiffany Gill and Ms Tracey Powell will serve another term on the Board. Dr Simon Burnet has been serving as the foundation's Medical Director, Dr Gill as Chair of Health Serices and Advocacy Committee and Ms Powell recently accepted the mantle of Chair of the Business Strategy Committee.
In other business, Board member David Waterford read the Treasurer's Report as Treasurer Ian Terry was 'an apology".
The AGM provided an opportunity for guests to presentations by two people whose positions are funded by Arthritis SA and whose roles collectively have immediate and long-term impacts on those with arthritis. One was Paediatric Rheumatology Nurse at the Women's & Children's Hospital, Tracy Rose, and the other was Florey Research Fellow at The University of Adelaide, Dr Elizabeth Hoon.
Life members dominated attendances. They and other supporters were thanked by Chair Ms Colette Smith and CEO Mrs Julie Black, both of whom highlighted Arthritis SA's many accomplishments. These are outlined in the Annual Report in the News and Publications section of this website. For pictures at the AGM go to Arthritis SA's facebook page.
