GCA & PMR Focus Groups
Patient perspectives of disease and corticosteroid therapy in giant cell arteritis (GCA) and polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR)
The Rheumatology unit at the Queen Elizabeth hospital along with Arthritis Australia are conducting a study on people’s experiences of Giant Cell Arteritis (GCA) and Polymyalgia Rheumatica (PMR) and treatment adverse effects.
To do this we will be conducting focus groups where people with PMR and GCA will be asked to discuss your disease, treatment and the effect this has had on your life.
What is involved?
This will involve coming to the Arthritis SA offices (118 Richmond Rd, Marleston SA 5033) for one session (approximately 45-60 minutes in duration)
Each focus group will be facilitated by two independent members of the research team (Dr Catherine Hill will not be present at these sessions).
These focus group discussions will be audio-recorded and transcribed. However, no one person will be identified. We can pay for transport for people who live in the metro area to attend the Arthritis SA office if they need it.
How to participate:
If you are interested in being involved please call our research coordinator Carlee Ruediger on 8222 7369 to discuss this research.
