Meet our Donor Relations Coordinator
Rachel Halley is Arthritis SA’s new Donor Relations Coordinator and has been busy out and about meeting members and donors.
Before accepting the role, Rachel had been involved with the organisation for approximately two years, working in the Contact Centre and volunteering at KidsFlix. These are fun-filled events where new release films are shown and there is entertainment at cinemas across South Australia for children with juvenile arthritis and those with special needs. Rachel loves these events and she is continuing to volunteer at them.
Rachel is a university graduate in health studies. She says she is eager to combine her knowledge and her passion for the organisation in the delivery of professional, highly personable services tailored to the needs of the individual. A strong believer that personal connections and a sense of community are healthy and critical attributes, Rachel adds that the chance to promote both is the appeal of the Donor Relations Coordinator position.
“Being able to connect with members and donors and tell them about the work we are doing is a real treat,” says Rachel. “At the same time, people let you into their lives, which is quite a privilege. But perhaps best of all is that together, we can make a real difference.”
Rachel has insight into the effects of arthritis upon a family first-hand and she says it is this, and the opportunity to work with others to help ease the pain of arthritis, that inspires her.
“I’m thrilled to be able to continue working for such a passionate and hardworking team at Arthritis SA” she adds.
