David Waterford is the Principal Consultant at OzTrain Pty. Ltd. a training and consultancy firm that specialises in tailor made strategic and educational programs for public and private sectors.
Previously, he spent 16 years in the public sector in direct service delivery and management in non-government community services and as well as in community education.
David has held executive positions in the Department for the Premier and Cabinet and the Department for Families and Communities. At the time of his resignation, he was a Deputy Chief Executive in the Department for Education and Child Development. He headed-up Families SA, the State’s child protection service, for more than five years.
David has also held roles as Executive Director in Social Inclusion Unit in the Department of Premier and Cabinet and was awarded the Public Service Medal in the Australia Day Honours of 2008). He is and is a Fellow, Governor’s Leadership Foundation (2007) Leaders Institute of SA. He holds a Master of Educational Studies from Flinders University of South Australia.
